Enjoy chamber music on the Bayou

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- You can enjoy some beautiful music in a beautiful setting this weekend as the Bayside String Quartet lives up to its name.

The Bayside String Quartet from Florida Orchestra will perform chamber music--including music from Haydn, Gershwin and Mendelssohn--on Spring Bayou.  The concert will be held outside Sunday, May 19 at 2:00pm at the Heritage Museum.

The quartet includes Saundra Buscemi Kitts (violin), Virginia Respess (violin), Kathie Aagaard (viola), and James Connors (violoncello).

Community cooks will teach adn share the delicious cuisine of Greece's Dodecanese Islands and Latin America. There will be fun, food and fascinating insights into culture and history.

Lessons startin in June but space is limited so sign up soon.

Artists hit the streets for Art on the Avenue

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- Artists will be venturing out of their usual studios and galleries this weekend, and heading into the street for Art on the Avenue.

On Saturday, May 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., local artists will show, create and sell their work in front of the shops along Tarpon Avenue in historic downtown Tarpon Springs.  This is a great chance to watch the artists create their work--in oils, acrylic, pastels, color pencil and charcoal.

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- Music on the Beach 2013 will have Tarpon Springs High School Jazz Ensemble on April 18. 

The even will be held at the beach near Tarpon Springs High School and there will be a free shuttle bus to the beach from the high school. 

People should bring chairs, blankets and friends!

The event is from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and it is free!

Fine Arts Festival on the Bayou this weekend!

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- One of the largest outdoor art shows in the Tampa Bay area can be found in Tarpon Springs this weekend.

The 39th annual Tarpon Springs Fine Arts Festival "On the Bayou" will be held from 9:00am-5:00pm on April 6 & 7 at Craig Park.  The $5 admission includes a free drink ticket. (Children under 12 and active military personnel get in free.)

The festival boasts more than 230 accomplished artists and fine craftsmen from around the country and regularly attracts more than 20,000 art enthusiasts.

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- Some of Tarpon Springs' biggest talents will be taking to the stage Friday evening at the Parks & Rec's 25th Annual Talent Show.

The curtain rises at 7 p.m. this Friday, March 29, at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center - with tickets just $7. The show will feature singers, dancers, comedians and much more.

The audience will pick the winner of the talent show.
