Love bugs invade Tarpon! VW bugs, that is! | Events

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- Love bugs will be invading the Sponge Docks on Saturday, but you won't need to head to the car wash.

These love bugs have wheels, not wings. They are actually Volkswagen Beetles.

The 2nd Annual Tarpon Springs Love Bug Show will be held Saturday, Feb. 18 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Sponge Docks on Dodecanese Blvd.

Organizers are asking anyone with a VW Bug to park along the main drag at the Sponge Docks until they completely take over.  Last year, around 140 Volkswagens took part.

Cash donations will be accepted to help the Tarpon Springs Boys & Girls Club and canned food items will go to The Shepherd Center.
