Tarpon Springs, Florida -- Get ready for Easter at the Easter Eggstravaganzaa. 

The event will take place at the Tarpon Springs Sports Complex on 150 North Jasmine Avenue, Tarpon Springs. 

It will take place on March 30 and last from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Tampa, Florida-- Despite Tampa Bay's lead in the state for the number of newly licensed foster families, state and local officials say they are still in desparate need of willing and well-suited parents as nearly 2,000 Bay area foster children remain. 

The recent "Fostering Florida's Future"  and "1200 New Foster Parents in 12 Months" initiatives have helped the Bay area land over 150 new foster homes just this year, and DCF officials say they are rolling out two new recruitment efforts to keep the growth going.

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- Still having trouble getting into the Christmas spirit? Tarpon Springs has you covered on Saturday.

That's the date for the annual Christmas Parade and Stroll.

The parade kicks off at 10 a.m. at the intersection of S. Pinellas Avenue and Mears Boulevard.

It features floats, marching bands, clowns and of course Santa Claus. After the parade, the fun moves to Craig Park for candy cane hunts and pictures with Santa and his elves.

Tampa, FL-- There are 38 Chick-fil-A restaurants in the Bay area, and each and every one of them are working alongside the Children's Cancer Center to provide "Fuel for Families" this November.

The “Fuel for Families” challenge will collect grocery and gas gift cards for families who struggle financially to get their children to critical medical visits, and to provide them with healthy meals while undergoing treatment, explains a release about the initiative.

Reminder!! Postal Service to collect toys at mailboxes December 1

Tampa, FL-- It seems early to start thinking of the holidays, but the Suncoast District of the U.S. Postal Service wants to inform its customers of their upcoming toy drive. 

10 News told you all about it earlier this month, but we want to make sure you give yourselves enough time to get out there and pick up a toy to donate.

The collection will take place on December 1, exactly two weeks from today!  The Postal Service will pick up the toys from customers who are able to leave them by their mailboxes, or in bins at the nearest post office.

On December 1, the Postal Service asks those customers who are able to leave unwrapped toys by their mailboxes, or in bins at the nearest post office. 

The toys will support the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to "brighten the holiday for less fortunate children."

County spreads the message on veterans homeowner program

Pinellas County is spreading the message about Proud Ground Pinellas, its newest housing initiative for veterans.

Jane Muhrlin, senior program administrator for the Pinellas County Community Development Department, will speak at the next Kiwanis Club of Seminole breakfast meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 13, to explain the program. Information on the First-Time Homebuyers Program will also be provided.

The meeting will be held at 7:15 a.m. at the Seminole Family Restaurant, 6864 Seminole Blvd., Seminole.
