Tarpon SWAT team undergoing training Thursday | News

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- Don't be alarmed if you see uniformed officers armed with guns drawn Tuesday in Tarpon Springs.  The police department's SWAT team is planning special training.

The TSPD SWAT team will be conducting a mock exercise at an abandoned house in the 400 block of East Tarpon Avenue.  They'll likely be seen in the area in their uniforms and carrying weapons. Those weapons though, will not have live rounds.

The Tarpon Springs Police Department says its officers need realistic training to make sure they're properly equipped and trained to handle any situation.
