Tarpon Police investigating suspicious death | News

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- Police are investigating what they are calling the homicide of an elderly man.

911 operators got the call just before 8 Friday morning about the death of 73-year-old Eddie Dixon.  Mr. Dixon lived at an apartment complex on N. Ring Avenue, bordered by the Pinellas Trail and Pine Street.

Mr. Dixon's caretaker, who visits his apartment every day to help him with his daily activities, discovered the body.

Police will not say how Dixon was killed but are calling the death suspicious and are investigating it as a homicide.
