Domestic partners can register

Domestic partners can register

Pinellas County, Florida -- Beginning April 15, any two people over the age of 18 will be able to register as domestic partners in Pinellas County, subject to certain limitations. 

Registration as domestic partners will afford unmarried couples certain rights relative to each other regarding health care visitation and decisions, funeral and burial decisions as well as notification of information conveyed to other family members.

Pinellas County, Florida -- Pinellas County commissioners and the county administrator will be spending quality time with the public on Wednesday, April 10, at Pinellas County’s 2014 Budget Community Forum.

It’s the community’s chance to find out more about Pinellas County programs and services and provide feedback on next year’s budget. As the county works on a strategic direction for the future, they are asking citizens to share their own vision of the community and of Pinellas County as a whole.

David Banther elected to Tarpon Springs commission

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- Voters in Tarpon Springs have picked David Banther to join the City Commission.

Banther bested three other candidates in Tuesday's municipal election to take Seat 4 on the City Commission.  He won just under 41% of the vote--beating out Timothy Keffalas (28%), Jim Bouldin and Tommy Frain (who both won 15% of the vote.)

Banther, 30, is already a member of the Tarpon Springs Budget Advisory Committee and a past member of the city's Heritage Preservation Board.  He is general manager at Banther Consulting Corporation.

Pinellas County, Florida -- The Pinellas County Board of Adjustment has one alternate member position open.

The Board of Adjustment reviews variance requests for issues such as setback reductions, lot area reductions and parking requirement reductions as well as requests for special exceptions. Members are appointed by the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners whose individual number terms run concurrently with the term of the appointing commissioner.

Pinellas SOE: Nearly 27,000 ballots mailed for March 12 Municipal Election

Pinellas County, Florida -- The Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Office reports Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark mailed nearly 27,000 ballots on Tuesday, Feb. 5 to domestic voters living in the nine municipalities conducting elections on March 12.

On Jan. 25, 311 ballots were mailed to absent military and overseas voters.

The breakdown for each city is as follows:

Feb. 11 voter registration deadline for March 12 Municipal Elections

Pinellas County, Florida -- Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark is reminding residents of nine municipalities conducting elections on March 12 that Monday, Feb. 11 is the voter registration deadline to vote in these municipal elections.

Municipal elections will be conducted March 12 in Belleair Bluffs, Gulfport, Kenneth City, Madeira Beach, Oldsmar, Seminole, South Pasadena, Tarpon Springs and Treasure Island.
